From Standard New Build to Bold, Personal Family Home

This 10-year-old, cookie-cutter new build was transformed into a home with real personality, without ripping everything out and starting again. With the kids growing up and the house needing to work harder, a substantial extension was added to the existing upstairs level. We then designed and refreshed the existing areas with clever, high-impact changes that made the home feel truly personal to them.

Inside, we designed custom cabinetry throughout, added a new electric fireplace with a beautifully detailed surround, and reworked the entry with smart built-in storage. We also updated the study nook into something truly unique. In the kitchen, we made strategic updates to give the feel of a brand-new space, without a full overhaul. Flooring was re-stained to a hardwearing tone that better suits family life, new carpet and curtains were installed throughout, and the stairwell was given a fresh identity with texture and custom wall panelling.

Every bedroom was designed with the individual in mind, each featuring either custom textured panelling or bold colour and created to grow with the kids over time. The master suite was finished with calm tones and statement panelling, all tied together through one cohesive overall scheme. Colour and texture were key, bringing warmth, energy, and character into every space.

Externally, the renovation was completed with a full refresh. Once the extension was done, the original cream brick was painted to create a modern, fully dark exterior, elevating the architecture and allowing the landscaping to really pop.
