Moody Master Suite Renovation with a Boutique Hotel Feel

This renovation was all about creating a sense of luxury, comfort and atmosphere without completely overhauling the home. The brief was to elevate the existing spaces and give the master bedroom, ensuite, powder room, stairwell and entrance a more refined, layered feel.

In the master bedroom, we created a moody hotel-inspired retreat with custom wardrobe cabinetry, a built-in headboard, rich timber tones, soft drapery and carefully considered lighting.

A key part of this renovation was working cleverly with what was already there. Rather than stripping everything out, we retained many of the existing materials and focused on the elements that would make the biggest difference. The ensuite was given a fresh lift with a new vanity and refined detailing, while the downstairs powder room was transformed with a new vanity and statement wallpaper.

Throughout the home, smaller updates helped pull everything together, including stained stairs, sisal rugs at the entrance and layered textures to add warmth and depth. Lighting played a major role, with soft integrated lighting used to create ambience and highlight the custom joinery.
